Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the necessity of synchronism of switching, by transmitting digital data and call signal by means of multiplex system for analog signals. CONSTITUTION:A digital data signal is converted into an analog signal at an FS modulation section 11 and input to a multiplex section 12. A call signal is input to the multiplex section 12 directly for multiplex. The multiplex signal is in pulse modulation at a PWM or PPM modulator 13 and converted into a digital signal. This signal is converted into a photo signal at an electro-optic conversion section 14 and transmitted to an optical transmission line 15. At the reception section, the analog signal in photoelectric conversion, PWM or PPM demodulation is separated into a data signal and a call signal at a separation section 18 and the data signal is FS-modulated to be the digital data. Thus, the synchronism for switching is not required.
