Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the measurement range of the minimum flow rate, by providing two impellers within the two flow paths and in the opposite direction to the flow and then measuring the flow rate based on the difference or the ratio of the number of revolutions of the impellers.
CONSTITUTION: Impeller 5 has rotations so that the fluid may be flowed to flow- out tube side part 3b from flow-in tube side part 3a of flow path 3; while impeller 6 rotates so as to flow the fluid to flow-in tube side part 4a from flow-out tube side part 4b of flow path 4 each. When impellers 5 and 6 are driven in the fixed number of revolutions by motor 10, the fluid becomes the circulating current on flow paths 3 and 4 in case no fluid flows in through flow-in tube 1. And then the equal number of revolulions is obtained between impellers 5 and 6 to measure the flow rate of zero. In case the fluid flows in through tube 1, the number of revolutions of impeller 5 increases by the function of differential gear device 7 although the number of revolutions of impeller 6 decreases. Accordingly, the flow rate of the fluid can be measured by obtaining the difference and the ratio of the number of revolutions which are detected by rotation detectors 14 and 15 each.
