Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively protect workers against danger and prevent a mold from being damaged, by a method wherein, in a mechanical safety device in which a plate and a rod are adopted, a cam or a plate can be deformed when a force which is greater than a pre-set level is applied thereto. CONSTITUTION:In a case where a safety door 1 is opened, a plate 11 located at a stationary board 6 controls a displacement of a rod 8, mounted at a movable board 5, against the stationary board 6, and stops mechanically a mold-closing operation of molds 2 and 2'. In a case where the safety door is closed, a cam 17 secured on the safety door 1 is designed to move away from a path of the rod 8 in synchrously with opening and shutting of the safety door. The cam 17 and/or the plate 11 is formed so as to be deformed when a power, which is higher than a pre-set level, is applied. Opening and shutting of the safety door can be done even under an operational condition of a mechanically-operated safety device, and a repair work of the safety device can be performed easily.
