PURPOSE:To make the frame body applicable for target products of various sizes by segmenting the opening part of the pressure-reducing chamber to plural segments and selectively communicating these with a pressure-reducing source. CONSTITUTION:After the completion of film forming work, the frame body for vacuum molding is placed on a molding board 6 and the effective active area of a vacuum filter 4 is adjusted in the height direction in correspondence to the height of the product. Next, silica sand 17 is charged into a metal frame 1 up to the height corresponding to the top end of the segment chamber 21B, thence vibrations are applied to increase the rate of packing. Thence, the top surface of the silica sand 17 is covered with a plastic film 18 and a vacuum pump 14 is mounted to the suction port 3 of an external pressure-reducing box 20 by way of a hose 13. As a result of this, only the segment chambers 21B and 21C in the metal flask 1 are selectively evacuated through the on-off valve 24 of a vent port 23, by which the packed silica sand 17 is pressure-reduced and set. At the same time, the plastic film 18 contacts the silica sand 17 closely. Here, if the pressure reduction of the molding board 6 is released and the pattern 10 removed, the mold holding the outside peripheral shape of the pattern 10 under reduced pressure by being sealed by the plastic films 15 and 18 is obtained.
