Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat ingot making slag without scattering dust, by discharging and developing residual molten slag in the ladle into ingot making slag container on a carriage to cool and solidify, and inclining onto a sieve to crush coarsely, and sorting out base metal or the like at the same time.
CONSTITUTION: Ingot making slag 2 in molten state remaining in a ladle 1 is thinly developed in an ingot making slag container 4 mounted on a carriage 3, and is cooled and solidified to allow the contained base metals to settle and gather in the lower layer. The cooled and solidified slag 2 is dropped onto a grizzly 10, which is a kind of sieve, and the base metals are recovered as byproduct 11. The slag 2 is recovered as undersize product 12 of coarsely crushed matter. As a result, the ingot making slag may be treated in a short time, without scattering dust in the ingot making shop, for every ladle, and the area for treatment is reduced and the recovery rate of contained base metals is increased.
