Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance recovery ratio of high grade metal and to effectively utilize other material by a method wherein large blocks are removed from roughly crushed slug, and specifically processed by crushing, sieving, magnetic separation, and grinding.
CONSTITUTION: Large metal blocks are removed from slug 1 by use of sieving machine 2, and the remaining slug is crushed to about 200mm by crusher 3, large metals are recovered from the system, crushed slug is sieved by a 20mm sieve 5, the remaining is treated by rod mill 4 so that metal and other crushed material are separated, the separated metal is recovered, and crushed part is seived 5', which, together with sieved 5 material, is sent to magnetic separator 6. Magnetically deposited material is sieved 7 through 10mm mesh, and the remaining is treated by about 10mm sieve 9 and by magnetic separator 11 to separate metal from the residue. The sieved material is separated into magnetic and non-magnetic material by magnetic separator 11. Magnetic parts collide with each other in the device 12 to separate metal from the residue; non-magnetic part is crushed and passed through several stages of sieves 14, 14' so that they can be utilized properly according to their grain sizes for application in the production of glass or cement.
