Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the moisture precisely and automatically by feeding a dry gas to a drier continuously, by discharging the moisture, which is contained in a sample to be measured in the drier, together with the gas to the outside of the drier system in order to collect it as water and by detecting the completion of measurement by the quantity of said water.
CONSTITUTION: A solid sample the mass of which is previously measured is put in a saucer of the closed type drier 1 in which temperature is kept at a fixed level, and a dry gas from a gas feed pipe 2 is supplied to the drier. On the other hand, the gas that contains moistuer is discharged from an exhaust pipe 3, the moisture is condensed to be made water by a condenser 4, and the water is led to a water collector 9 together with the gas. Uncondensed moisture in the gas is introduced to an electronic cooler 5, condensed and led to the water collector 9 through a water recovering pipe 7. The mass of water in the collector is measured in the precision of up to 0.1g by a direct-reading even balance 10, the result is sent to a recording and signal device 11, the moisture content rate is obtained from both the previously measured sample mass and moisture quantity when the said result reaches a constant weight, and is recorded, and the device is stopped.
