Abstract
PURPOSE:To automate zinc plating work by subjecting high carbon steel to zinc plating and chromate treatment after which the steel is coated with cold-drying type water soluble clear lacquer and heat treated to prevent dehydration of the resulting chromate film. CONSTITUTION:High carbon steel is subjected to usual zinc plating and chromate treatment, and the resulting chromate film is coated with cold-drying type water soluble clear lacquer. The steel is then heat treated and allowed to cool. Thus, zinc plating processes ranging from degreasing to heat treatment can be automated to considerably enhance the work efficiency and productivity.
