Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of an annular material so as to make unnecessary the correction of the shape of the annular material after hardening, and to stabilize its quality, by quenching the annular material supported between two driving roll and a pressing roll at the outer periphery from hardening temp. while being rotated and pressurized. CONSTITUTION:An annular material 11 heated to hardening temp. is placed on a discharging pusher 28 and is moved onto a stand 12. The pusher 28 is retreated leaving the annular material 11 on the stand 12. The annular material 11 is brought into contact at its outer surface with the outer surface of the cylinders of driving rolls 6, 7, and a slider 8 is let to advance so that outer surface of the cylinder of the pressing roll 9 attached to the slider 8 comes into contact with the outer surface of the annular material 11 so as to support the annular material 11 between the roll 9 and the driving rolls 6, 7. Then a movable piston 18 is operated so as to revolve the body 2 around a supporting axis 15, whereby the annular material 11 is dipped into hardening agent contained in a hardening tank 1 while being rotated and pressed, then the rotation is stopped. The annular material 11 is pressed while keeping its prescribed shape, hence no deformation due to heating and hardening is developed, making unnecessary shape correction step.
