Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a metal mold symmetrically patterned or male-female reversed to the model, by detecting displacements in X, Y, Z-axis directions of a tracer to the model profiled, inverting the code of its detected signal and allowing its inverted signal to control the shifting movement of a main spindle.
CONSTITUTION: When a stylus 5 held by a tracer 4 is displaced from its neutral position by its contact to a model 2, a signal 9 corresponding to its displacement is amplified by a servo amplifier 15 to rotate a servo motor 20 for driving the tracer, rotate a screw 21, move the tracer 4 in the direction of an X-axis and permit the stylus 5 to shift while profiling surfaces of the model 2. Said signal 9 is inverted by an inverter circuit 25 and amplified by a servo amplifier 15' to rotate a servo motor 22 for driving a main spindle in an opposite direction to the servo motor 20 for the tracer. Further positions of the stylus and cutting tool are directly detected to perform an operation of feed-back control by using a comparator circuit 27 and arithmetic circuit 29.
