An operational wire electrode is placed at a face-to-face position to the work 18 with a slight amount of clearance to apply a programmed machining feed to said electrode or work 18 while performing the repetition of pulse discharge in said clearance and enable an electric discharge machining operation by using the machining liquid of water. Thus the work is in such a state as to be not exposed in the air both during and after its machining unless applied an artificial manipulation, capable of delaying a rust generation.
