Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an image-forming material resistant to long storage, suitable for a contact reflection exposure system, fixable by visible light, and colorable by ultraviolet rays, by forming a coloring layer on one side of a transparent or translucent porous base and a photosensitive layer on the other side. CONSTITUTION:An image-forming material comprises (semi)transparent porous base 1, such as paper or porous film, photosensitive layer 2 consisting of a quinone compound (e.g. o-benzoquinone) and a hydrogen donor (e.g. polyethyleneglycol) on one side of base 1, and coloring layer 3 consisting of biimidazole (e.g. hexaaryl biimidazole) and a dye leuco compound (e.g. aminotriarylmethane) on the other side. Layer 2 is brought into close contact to original 4 using the above-mensioned material, illuminated by visible light from the side of coloring layer 3, heated to 100-140 deg.C with original 4 removed, again illuminated by ultraviolet rays on the whole surface of layer 3 to imagewise color layer 3, and thus, to form positive image 31.
