Abstract
PURPOSE: To apply the thermosetting resin coat efficiently on the outer surface of the steel pipe by cooling the surface of a resin film immediately in front of skew rolls at the outlet side of a coater to temporarily impart the strength thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling devices 4 (such as spray nozzles) are attached immediately before a plurality of skew rolls 3 at the outlet sides of a coater 1, and the surface coated with a thermosetting resin, of a steel pipe 2 extracted from the coater 1, in which the crosslinking reaction is not sufficiently promoted is cooled. Tension is temporarily applied to the surface of a thermosetting resin by the cooling, and the skew rolls are passed. Thereafter, the film is molten again by the retention heat of the steel pipe and a thermoplastic resin is applied on the outer surface of the steel pipe while continuing the crosslinking reaction to obtain efficiently the resin coated steel pipe.
