Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain stable coolant flow in a coolant inlet and outlet guide unit for a rotary electric machine by communicating the coaxial portion of an inflowing tube through a valve with an outflowing tube and opening the valve to exhaust gas accumulated in the coaxial portion of the inflowing tube to discharge the gas into the outflowing tube and thereby secure the flowing passage in the coaxial portion of the inflowing tube. CONSTITUTION:The coaxial portion 15 of an inflowing tube 2 is communicated through a valve 10 having an exhaust passage 10a and a valve seat 12 having an exhaust passage 12a with the exhaust passage 3b of an outflowing tube 3. The valve 10 is so increased on the surface area at the inflowing tube side as to increase the hydraulic pressure from the inflowing tube side, and incorporates a spiral spring 11 disposed between itself and the valve seat 12. The tension of the spring 11 is slightly lower than the sum of the centrifugal force of the valve 10 at rotating time and the radial coolant pressure in the state that gas is not accumulated in the coaxial portion of the inflowing tube. In this manner, when gas is accumulated in the coaxial portion 15 of the inflowing tube 2, the valve 10 is automatically opened to exhaust the gas so as to secure the flowing passage of the inflowing tube.
