PURPOSE: An analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent comprising kojic acid as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: An analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent comprising an active constituent of kojic acid contained in a fermented food, e.g. miso, soy sauce or sake, as a tasting component, and usable as an injection, internal or external preparation. The kojic acid, a food component, can be prepared by incubating bacteria belonging to the genus Aspergillus, Penicillium, Escherichia, Acetobacter or Gluconobacter, and has very low toxicity, e.g. an LD50 of about 2.5W3.5g/kg for mice or rats.
