Abstract

PURPOSE:To display accurate time information on a receiving form in an easy-to- see form by outputting a bit-by-bit video signal after converting numeric information from a timer unit into fixed information. CONSTITUTION:Timer unit 1 normally generates time numeric codes of a month, day, hour, and minute and those codes are converted by information converter 2 into fixed character codes, which are supplied, character by character, to character video signal generator 3 in sequence. Generator 3 generates a picture pattern corresponding to the input codes and it is decomposed by linear scanning to supply switch 5 with a bit-by-bit video signal. Once, scanner 4 starts a read and scan on an original, time information insertion signal S is supplied to switch 5 at fixed timing and a character video signal is sent out by way of compressor 6 and modem 7. As a result, a copy of the original with the time of transmission added can be obtained at a reception side.
