Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the lamp lighting current at the initial period of lighting within a constant value by controlling a switch by way of clock pulses and controlling the electric current for lighting the lamp for lighting by periodic negative feedback.
CONSTITUTION: When the voltage corresponding to the driving current of a lamp 1 by a shunt resistance 7 is applied to a comparator 11 and becomes more than the divided voltage by voltage dividing resistances 19, 20, the output of the comparator 11 inverts and the resistance of a predrive transistor 9 becomes high resistance through the analog switch which is controlled of opening and closing periodically by clock pulses. According to this, the resistance of a transistor 6 becomes high resistance as well and the driving current of the lamp 1 is so controlled by periodic negative feedback controlling as to become constant current. Hence, no rush current is generated at the initial period of lighting and the lamp lighting current becomes within a fixed value, whereby the occurrence of malfunction or the like of the IC circuit owing to the sharp drop of the source battery voltage is prevented.
