Abstract

PURPOSE: To mold automatically a high boot-shaped hollow glass body by a procedure in which a parison obtained by preliminarily molding a glass is introduced into the mold, the tip portion of the parison is bent by pushing by moving the bottom mold, and then blow molding is performed.
CONSTITUTION: The parison 11 obtained by preliminarily molding the glass is inserted down into the split molds 2 and 3, and when the tip portion of the parison 11 extends by gravity and reaches the bottom mold 6, the split molds 2 and 3 are closed. Then, air is supplied to an air cylinder 8 and the bottom mold 6 is pushed up by a piston rod 9. And, the tip portion of the parison 11 is fit in with the molds 2 and 3 while bending the tip portion by pushing, and then blow molding is performed by means of a blow pipe so as to expand the parison 11 along the inner shape of the molds.
