Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the deformation and destruction of an atmospheric chamber with low oxygen concentration, by providing a chamber having an electrochemical deoxidation device with a pressure compensation equipment.
CONSTITUTION: The chamber 6 storing foods, etc. is communicated with the storage chamber 10 having the electrolytic cell 9 of the deoxidation device 7 through the communicating tube 8 and a gas is circulated by the fan 11. The electrolytic cell 9 is divided by the separator 15, composed of the cathode 12 consisting of a porous electrode of gas diffusion, the anode 13, and the electrolyte 14 of a 30wt% KOH aqueous solution. Oxygen is reduced at the cathode 12, and put in, electrolyte 14. Oxygen emits at the anode 13 and is discharged from the outle17. When the internal pressure of the storage chamber 10 be comes negative, the open air is introduced from the conduit 3' through the propyleneglycol 4' in the compensation device 1' to the chamber 10. When the internal pressure of the chamber 10 becomes super-atmospheric pressure, the inner air is discharged outwards from the propylene glycol layer 4 in the compensation device 1. The pressure difference between the interior and exterior is thus maintained within a pressure of 50mm H2O.
