Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide coating material compsn. which has good adhesion properties, produces electrically conductive coating film having excellent oil resistance and is useful for electronic parts, by a method wherein electrically conductive carbon powder is blended with a thermoplastic polyester and the blend is heated at a temp. of from not lower than the solftening point of the resin to not higher than the m.p. of the resin under high-speed stirring.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic polyester obtd. by the polycondensation of dibasic acid (e.g. terephthalic acid) with 1W10C glycol and hydroxy acid (e.g. p-hydroxybenzoic acid) is ground by means of a refrigerated grinder using a refrigerant such as liquid nitrogen, etc., and classified to obtain resin powder (a) having an average particle diameter of not more than 200μ. Then 10W70pts.wt., pref. 30W50pts.wt. of (b) electrically conductive carbon powder such as natural or artificial graphite, acetylene black is blended with 100pts.wt. of (a) the resin powder. The resulting mixt. is heated at a temp. of from not lower than the softening point of the resin (a) to not higher than the m.p. of the resin under high-speed stirring to bond the powder of (b) component onto the surface of the resin powder of (a) component, whereby the desired powdered coating material is produced.
