Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable temperature compensation of high accuracy, by a capacitor of prescribed temperature coefficient to compensate the oscillation output of an oscillator which has a coefficient of temperature as to oscillation frequency and by compensating time given by a crystal oscillator, depending on a prescribed frequency difference counted value for which the compensated oscillation output is used as a reference.
CONSTITUTION: A reference signal generator 4, which has a primary coefficient of temperature as to oscillation frequency, is temperature-compensated by a capacitor of temperature coefficient similar to that of the piezoelectric element of the generator 4, so that the oscillation frequency of the generator is hardly affected by temperature. The difference between the oscillation frequency of the generator 4 for each hour based on an one-hour counter 10 or the like and the oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillator 2 for a timepiece is counted by a 24-hour counter 12. When the value counted by the counter 12 exceeds a prescribed value such as one second, driving pulses for a step motor 64 are compensated through a base-50 counter 14 or the like to accurately compensate time as to temperature.
