Abstract

PURPOSE: To excavate a vertical shaft using selectively a clam shell bucket or a scoop by operating one hydraulic excavator.
CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic excavator equipped with a hydraulic clam shell bucket 10 which is elevating vertically and rotating in any angle position excavates the central section B of the vertical shaft with a clam shell 10, and clamps the scoop 35 with the clam shell bucket 10 by closing the clam shell bucket 10 are elevated and lowered at the fixed angle position to excavate the wall section C of the vertical shaft with the scoop. This enables to excavate the vertical shaft by repeating alternately for excavating said central section B with the clam shell 10 and the wall section C with the scoop 35.
