PURPOSE: To manufacture multi-channel magnetic heads with size precision by forming a multi-channel core by forming a front core material with a head gap and a back core material in a comb-tooth shape and then by joining both the cores with one core wound with a coil.
CONSTITUTION: A front core material with gap 13 is provided with V-shaped groove 16 for forming gap end 15, junction surface 17 meeting a back core, and comb-tooth-shaped front core 19 with groove 18. A back core material connected to nonmagnetic member 22 provided with rectangular groove 22a is provided with butt surface 23 and groove 24 extending to member 22 to form back core 25. Core 25, after provided with an acrylic resin insulating layer below line A-B, is equipped with coil 26. Both cores 19 and 25 are connected to each other and specific shielding plate 27 is interposed between respective channel cores, and terminal base 30 is fixed to member 22 and the dotted-line part is lapped to obtain a multi-channel magnetic head.
