Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform automatic control of molten metal level in a mold at low cost, by burying a temperature measuring element in the inner wall of a mold for continuous casting at a height where the molten metal level reaches the critical level of the mold when the output of the element indicates the maximum value.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature measuring element 7 is buried in the inner wall of a mold 3 for continuous casting at a position lower by H from critical level Lr of the mold.
