Abstract
PURPOSE: To control the molten metal surface level to an optimum fixed level, by controlling the actuator on the basis of the upper limit value and the lower limit value of the tundish level and the differential value of the tundish level.
CONSTITUTION: In tundish level detector 5, if the first comparator 11 which detects that the molten metal surface is at the upper limit value or higher outputs the signal output and the differential value obtained by differentiating it by differentiator 15 is plus, the third comparator 16 outputs the output signal. The first AND circuit 16 receives output signals of the first and the third comparators to output the output signal, thereby reducing the control quantity of actuator 8 for operating switch device 4. If tundish level detector 5 detects the lower limit value or less, the second comparator 13 outputs the output signal, and the fourth comparator 18 outputs the output signal if the differential value obtained by differentiating it by differentiator 15 is minus. The second AND circuit 21 receives output signals of the second and the fourth comparators to increase the control quantity of actuator 8.
