Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable automatic control of the speed of the continuous processing for band steel and the like by a method wherein the passing speed of a plate in each of center and outlet sections and an actually-measured value of the quantity of storage are inputted in an computer and thereby the starting point of the operation for the deceleration and acceleration is judged and controlled.
CONSTITUTION: A detector 1 for the passing speed of the plate in the center section, a detector 4 for the passing speed of the plate in the outlet section and a detector 3 for the quantity of the storage of strip are provided and connected with the computer 5 for control, respectively. When a push-button 9 is pushed, a detection signal is inputted, a point of time for deceleration is judged from the difference in the passing speed and the staying quantity and thus a signal is delivered. In the case when an inspector 8 is required for observation of the surface of a product, etc., the computer 5 for control is operated by pushing the push-button 9 to output a deceleration signal and control an electromotor 7 through te intermediary of a controlling device 6, whereby the passing speed of the plate is decelerated, while the operation is released when the deceleration becomes unrequired. By this constitution, the number of operators can be reduced, while the quantity of the storage can also be reduced through the improvement of precision of the control over the quantity of the storage of strip.
