Abstract

PURPOSE:To establish the ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit without being subject to the effect due to cable length, in which the indutance of the impendance matching transformer is cancelled with capacitive component of piezoelectric oscilltor. CONSTITUTION:The excited voltage having opposite phase each other from the terminals P0-P2 are boosted at the troidal transformers 3, 4, and fed to the piezoelectric oscillators 1, 2. In this case, the winding ratio of the primary to secondary windings of the transformers 3, 4, is determined so that the inductance of the transformers 3, 4 can be cancelled with the capacitance of the oscillators 1, 2. Thus, the impedance between the terminals P0 and P1 and between P0 and P2 is comparatively low and only resistive component. Thus, the oscillators 1, 2 are driven without being effected to the length of the cable connected between the terminals P0-P2. The oscillators 1, 2 and the transformers 3, 4 are unifiedly molded with the sound wave transmitting material 7 with the metal holder 6 retained.
