Abstract

PURPOSE: To use the measurement system in a dry state and make possible the stable measurement of unreacted ozone concentration without any need for long- term maintenance by diluting the exhaust gas at a fixed ratio by the dry gas which is inert to ozone then measuring the ozone concentration.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas containing the ozone used for purification of city water and oxidation treatment of the harmful materials in industrial waste water is taken out from output piping 17 by way of sampling piping 8, solenoid valve, etc. 18. The inert gas which does not react with ozone, such as dry air, N2 or CO2 gas coming through a desiccating agent packed tower 20 and vavle 21 is mixed into the exhaust gas from the piping 19 on the way and the exhaust gas is fed to an ozone densitometer 9, whereby the residual ozone density is measured. In the piping to the densitometer 9, the exhaust gas is diluted to the humidity of the extent at which the moisture in the exhaust gas does not condense in the densitometer 9, by which the ozone is prevented from decomposing by melting in the condensate and making its determination infeasible. The prevention of condensation against fluctuations of the atmospheric temperature simply necessitates diluting sufficient amount of dry gas.
