Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect the load cell from overload and reduce its output change by securing the load cell and support member to the one end parts and other end parts of leaf springs thereby constituting the device.
CONSTITUTION: A load cell 1 is provided with a base 2 and load receiving part 3 as well as the parallel upper and lower beams 4, 5 which connect their top and bottom ends to each other and, e.g., strain gauges 8, 8' and 9, 9' which detect the stress generated in the said beams and output signals. Leaf springs 13, 14 are secured at one end respectively to the base 2 of the load cell 1 by way of connecting members 12. These leaf springs 13, 14 are secured at the other end respectively to a support frame 16. The load cell 1 is supported by the leaf springs 13, 14 and therefore if it is overloaded, said load is absorbed first by the displacement of the leaf springs, thus abrupt displacement is obviated. Thence, the load cell 1 is protected against damages, etc. by a stopper part 10. Hence, the load cell may be protected against overloading and its output change may be reduced.
