Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely receive a sternward thrust which makes a propelling unit leap up when it hits against any obstacle by providing a tilt-lock device with a sub-lock device.
CONSTITUTION: The main lock system 12 of a tilt mechanism is locked by the 1st lock board 17 energized by a spring 20 being engaged with a lock rod 7, while a sub-lock system 13 is composed of a U-shaped sub-lock board 26 and a control rod 30. The control rod 30 is engaged with a cam 33 provided on a gear-shift rod 31 and is restricted in its move downward under the sternward condition. In the advance maneuver, the control rod moves and thereby the sub-lock board 26 is also rotatd, bringing about tilting. In the sternward movement, however, the sub-lock board 26 can not rotate, and so a propelling unit does not tilt even under the work of a sternward thrust.
