PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operation and enable moving rearward in such a way that a reverse device equipped with an erroneous operation preventer is additionally installed in a speed change gear equipped with a gear shift drum to be use for motor tricycle or another. CONSTITUTION:A pin 9 of a gear shift fork 3 moves along a groove 2 for reverse on the same drum 1 with turning of a gear shift drum 1, and at the same time, a pin 7 of a stopper lever 8 also moves along an auxiliary groove 6 on the same drum 1. and the pin 9 reach the neutral position (A) when the pin 7 reaches the terminal position (A') of the auxiliary groove 6, turning of the drum 1 is hampered, and the pin 9 is prevented from displacing to the reverse position B. Here, for moving the vehicle rearward, after a wire 11 is pulled to turn a lever 8, and the pin 7 is separated from the auxiliary groove 6, the pin 9 is displaced to the reverse position B by turning the drum 1. In this event, the pin 7 is fallen into a partial groove 6' to hamper turning of the drum 1.
