Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower the temperature rise in reflecting plates and make the exchanging of a flash discharge tube easy by disposing the opening of the conductor secured to the flash discharge tube in opposition to recording paper and forming an opening to the conductor back side of the reflecting plates enclosing the flash discharge tube. CONSTITUTION:The flash discharge tube is constituted by closely contacting a plate body 5 having high light reflecting characteristic and electric conductivity to the outside surface of a tube bulb 1 and the opening 5a for light transmission of the plate body 5 is opposed to recording paper PR. The reflecting plates are constituted by two sheets 81, 82 and an opening is formed at their top end. The surrounding air passes in the clearance at the bottom ends of the reflecting plates 81, 82 and the top surface of a guide plate 9 and enters between the reflecting plates 81, 82, where it ascends and escapes through the opening. By the convection of this air, the temperature rise between the reflecting plates 81, 82 is suppressed. In addition, the flash discharge tube 1 is prevented from leakage of radiations by the metal plate 5, thus the radiations may be concentrated to the recording paper PR by making a radiation range narrower. In this way, the temperature rise in the reflecting plates may be made lower and the exchanging of the flash discharge tube made easier.
