Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a proper amount of ink to continuously ooze out, by a method wherein finely divided thermoplastic elastomr powder in irregular shape is calcined to obtain a porous material having continuous ultrafine pores and then the porous material is molded into a roller. CONSTITUTION:Finely divided thermoplastic elastomer powder in irregular shape is calcined to obtain a porous material having continuous ultrafine pores. The porous material is molded into a roller 1. Alternatively, the finely divided powder is charged to a roller-shaped mold and calcined to form the roller 1. A shaft 2 is fitted into the roller. Alternatively, the finely divided powder is charged to a mold within which the shaft is arranged, and then calcined. The above finely divided powder which is in the irregular shape is prepared as follows: A thermoplastic elastomer is dissolved in an org. solvent and shaped to the desired form. Then the org. solvent is extracted with a solvent which is compatible with the org. solvent and does not dissolve the thermoplastic elastomer in order to obtain a porous material having continuous honey comb-type pore. The porous material is washed with water, dried and ground.
