Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately and easily conduct a dynamic balancing test, by modifying a shaft supporting method and by adding a slow rorary driving mechanism to rotate a shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A crankshaft C to be tested is supported on three fulcrum pedestals FI, FII, FIII. The quantity of imbalance of the crankshaft is determined from the displacements of the supported portions which are caused when the crankshaft is rotated on the pedestals. Since the number of the pedestals supporting the crankshaft is three, the sagging of the crankshaft is reduced and the influence of complicated deformation during the rotation of the crankshaft is diminished. One end of the crankshaft C is connected through a universal joint 7 to a speed reducer 8 on the side of a driving mechanism D. The shaft is rotated by a main motor 9. A compact geared motor 12 for slow driving is provided in the driving mechanism D in addition to the main motor 9.
