Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a battery which incorporates preferable electrolyte leakage- proof and keeping quality by employing trimanganese tetraoxide as an anode active substance in an organic electrolytic battery using alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal as cathode active substance. CONSTITUTION:An organic electrolytic battery is fabricated by employing alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal such as, for example lithium as cathode active substance and organic electroyte such as, for example, lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) dissolved in a mixture liquid of propylene carbonate and dimethoxyethane. Trimanganese tetraoxide (Mn3O4) is employed particularly as the anode active substance of this battery. A mixture of this trimanganese tetraoxide, conductive carbon and binder is used as the anode binder. Since the thus formed battery employs low trimanganese tetraoxide, its operating voltage exhibits 1.2 to 1.8 volts and is convertible with the convertional 1.5V battery.
