Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct the dispersion of ultrasonic beam sensitivity, by calibrating the sensitivity of transducer element and peripheral electronic circuit. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of continued elements are selected from the transducer elements constituting circular arrangement and ultrasonic narrow transmission beam is radiated to the inner wall of the test hole. The reflection echo from the inner wall is detected at the reception beam former 33 and stored in the digital memory 36 after A/D conversion 34. Next, the similar operation is made by shifting one transducer element. By sequentially repeating the operation like this, the strength of reflection echo from the inner wall is stored in the memory 36. On the other hand, the data obtained by putting the transducer in the virtual test hole is stored in the memory 36, and the said measuring data is calibrated with the operation circuit 35 by using the correction numeral and it is displayed on the display 37.
