Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a seal having stable sealing performance at low cost by pressure-molding the lip body of a sealing ring made of synthetic resin such as fluoro-resin, from the cylindrical resin applied with skiving and incorporating the lip body in a metal case.
CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical element 1 which is made of fluoro-resin is obtained by pressurizing and heating fluoro-resin powder is applied with skiving, and a band- shaped belt 2 is obtained. This belt 2 is cut into a prescribed length, and coiled so that the direction of winding from the outer peripheral end 21 to the inner peripheral end 22 accords with the direction P of revolution of sealing shaft and further both ends 21 and 22 are set in close vicinity on the circumference, and thus stratified cylinder 3 is constituted, and the thickness in the radial direction is made uniform. Then, the stratified cylinder 3 is heated and molded by metal molds 41 and 42 so that the cross section becomes J-form, and then the flange part and the lip top end part are finished as shown by A and B, and a sealing ring 5 is obtained. This shealing ring 5 is accomodated and fabricated in the storage box 6 made of metal plates.
