Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable dryer dehydration drying process to be saved by removing larger particles with a vibrating sieve from the slurry comprising wet treating the dust containing valuable metals then dehydrating the same with a tube-press type dehydrator.
CONSTITUTION: The slurry being fed from each dust producing source is concentrated to solid concentrations 20 to 30% by a thickener 1 and is then supplied to a vibrating sieve 4 through a leveling and supplying device 3. The slurry having been removed of larger particles above 840μ with the sieve 4 is supplied via check valve 9 to a tube-press type dehydrator. This dehydrator consists of units of plural tubes 10. Since the coarse particles have already been removed, the engagement of coarse particles by the check valve 9 and damaging of rubber-made bladders are prevented, thus the dehydrator operates smoothly to discharge the filtrate through piping 11. When squeezing is completed, the high pressure water is discharged to a certain extent through influent port 14, after which a vacuum device system 16 is operated to suck the remaining high pressure water then air is blow in, thereby peeling and discharging of the cake is accomplished.
