Abstract
Process for the treatment of the residual lime slurry formed during the causticisation reaction in a plant for the manufacture of sulphate cellulose, before being calcined in a furnace, in which the residual lime slurry is separated by filtration of the white liquor produced during the causticisation reaction, then washed and dried to a solids content which is required in the calcination stage, characterised in that the treatment is carried out in a filter press and in that, in a first stage, the white liquor is separated from the residual lime slurry suspension 1 carried on a dewatering conveyor 3, after which the residual lime slurry cake formed on the conveyor is washed, the slurry washed on the conveyor is then predried in a second compression stage and, finally, the residual lime slurry undergoes a final drying with compressed air and is removed from the conveyor. <IMAGE>
