Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A trough 7 assembled with a partition plate 9, horizontal plate 12, infrared ray heater 25, thermometer 23 and air feed pipe 17 is disposed on a conveying vibration mechanism 1 and further a powder and granule constant volume feeder 18 assembled with a thermometer 22 is disposed thereabove. While the powder and granules to be measured, such as molding sand, are being fed at varying feed rates and air feed rates, the relation diagrams aWc of the temperature differences Td before and after the respective heatings and moisture contents P are made. Thereafter, the powder and granules to be measured are supplied and the temperature difference before and after the heating is measured. The moisture contents thereof are calculated by using the relation diagrams aWc having beforehand made. Thereby, the highly accurate measurement without receiving the effect of organic contents, temperature, colors, etc. of the powder and granules may be readily performed with the simple apparatus.
