Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure a moisture content rate accurately and easily by a relatively-simple device without influences of the supply state of molding sands, etc., and an organism, by heating corpuscles by air with a constant thermal value and then by finding the rise value of the temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Air is fed from air intake 11 into draft 7 and heated by heater 14 before being exhausted from outlet of 16a of hood member 16. Then, magnetic generator 10 of vibrator 1 is operated to vibrate draft 7 with constant amplitude via spring plate 4. In this state, molding sands 41 are supplied over partition board 6 from sand hopper 15 and they are moves to the right by dropping on level plate 8 in sequence. At this time, the temperature of sands 41 in hopper 15 and that of sand 41 heated by air are measured by thermometers 18 and 20 and the rise value of the temperature of sands 41 is calculated. This value is applied to a graph showing the relation between the temperature rise value and moisture contact rate, so that the moisture content rate of sands 41 will be obtained.
