Abstract
PURPOSE:To feed much quantity of heat at the preheating period of refining and achieve the reduction of refining period by feeding O2 through the inner pipe of a double pipe tuyere at the bottom of the converter, feeding gaseous fuel such as C3H8 through the outside pipe and atomizing the liquid fuel supplied to an atomizer by the gaseous fuel by means of the atomizer provided to the outside pipe. CONSTITUTION:O2 or O2-contg. gas 5 is blown to molten iron 2 through the inside pipe 1 of the bottom blowing tuyere burner disposed to furnace bottom refractories 3 and gaseous fuel 6 sch as C3H8 is fed thereto through the ouside pipe 4. At this time, the liquid fuel fed to an atomizer 8 provided to the outside pipe 4 is atomized with the gaseous fuel 6 by the atomizer to be made into the gas-liquid mixed fuel which is then blown into the converter. This method is effective in reducing the preheating time for cold iron materials for such case that the number of the blowing pipe of the furnace bottom is limited as in the case of making combination use of top- and bottom O2 blowing.
