Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve vibration-damping performance and slidability of brake caliper, by fitting, through the intermediary of a resilient member, a hard sleeve to be slid in a support hole on the outside of slide pins which connects the brake caliper to bracket in freely slidable manner.
CONSTITUTION: When friction pad P1 is forced onto one of the side faces of brake disk D by piston 7 with application of hydraulic brake pressure to cylinder 6, brake caliper C is moved by the reaction force, in a direction opposite to that of the movement of piston 7 while causing hard sleeves 12 for slide pins 10 to slide in their support holes 15. Therefore, friction pad P2 is urged onto the other side face of disk D by opposite arm members 8 of clamp arm 52, so that braking force is acted to disk D. In this state, support arm 2 is deflected in the rotating direction of disk D by the reaction force caused by supporting the braking torque. However, since lateral load acted to hard sleeves 12 is absorbed by resilient members 13, hard sleeves 12 can be protected from damages by the function of resilient members 13.
