Abstract
PURPOSE: Title tape having excellent holding strength at high temperatures, prepared by applying a specific thermoplastic pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to a tape substrate through a thermoplastic elastomer layer.
CONSTITUTION: To a tape substrate, such as nonwoven fabric or paper, are applied a thermoplastic elastomer layer (A) having a softening point higher than that of (B) by at least 5°C, and prepared by mixing (a) 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin, such as an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer or a low density PE, (b) 10W200pts.wt. of a tackifying resin having a softening point of 50W150°C, such as a terpene resin or rosin, (c) 0W50pts.wt. of a diene copolymer such as an ABS or a butadiene/ styrene copolymer, and (d) 0.1W10pts.wt. of a stabilizer such as synthetic wax or process oil and a thermoplastic pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (B) prepared by mixing (a) 100pts.wt. of a styrene/isoprene block copolymer, (b) 10W300pts.wt. of a tackifying resin, (c) 0W50pts.wt. of a diene copolymer and (d) 0.1W10pts.wt. of a stabilizer, so that the ratio of the thickness of (A) to that of (B) is in the range of 1:0.1W1.5, and the thickness of (B) is below 50μ.
