Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the one of good accuracy to be produced to arbitrary lengths by providing grooves of spiral form whose bottom is flat to the surface of a cylinder, arraying a number of optical fibers, winding the same thereon and bonding these.
CONSTITUTION: A wire-form material of a square in section is made roughly equal to the width of the required number of optical fibers and is wound on the surface of a cylinder 20 to spiral form at equal pitch, whereby flights 22 and grooves 24 are formed. If necessary, scales 26 are given to the flights 22. Thence, a required number of optical fibers 10 are cut to the specified length and are wound in close contact with the foregoing grooves. At this time, the beginning and end of the windings are tentatively fixed by means of self-adhesive tapes 28. After this, these are integrally bonded by means of an adhesive agent 30 and the entire part is stipped off from the cylinder 20. Thereby, the length of the fiber bundle may be changed as desired and the one of good accuracy free from unevenness may be produced.
