Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease of the sectional area of a large number of holes penetrating catalyst blocks in one direction due to slip by a method wherein the catalyst blocks of hexahedra which have holes and concave portions and convex portions are mounted to each edge portion facing to upper and lower surfaces vertical in the penetrating direction are connected by means of the concave portions and the convex portions.
CONSTITUTION: Convex portions (legs) 4 and concave portions (inserting holes) 5 are each formed to edge portions facing to the lower surfaces 1-2 and the upper surfaces 1-1 of catalyst blocks 1 which a large number of holes 2, which are extruded and molded, for letting exhaust gas pass are penetrated in one direction.
