Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily separate high-purity cyclic triphosphonitrile in a high yield by treating a phosphazene mixt., with activated carbon, which is a mixt. of a cyclic phosphazene oligomer and linear phosphazene.
CONSTITUTION: PCl5 or org. substd. phosphoryl chloride and NH3 or NH4Cl are mainly reacted in the presence or absence of dust of a metal such as Fe or Co or chloride thereof to obtain a reaction product, a mixt. of a cyclic phosphazene oligomer which is cyclic phosphonitrile trimer to eicosamer or the like and linear phosphazene which is linear phosphonitrile. An adequate amt. of activated carbon is added to this product, heated, and filtered, whereby phosphazenes other than cyclic triphosphonitrile are adsorbed on the carbon. Thus, the cyclic triphosphonitrile can easily be recovered from the phosphazene mixt.
