CONSTITUTION: In the measurement of sodium vapor pressure, when the gas including sodium vapor and sodium mist is heated with the heater 13, natural convection is caused in the cylinder vessel 3 and gas goes toward the detection cylinder 4. In this case, the gas flow speed is made slow with the flow adjusting plate 17 to cause the mist in the state that it can sufficiently be evaporated, the sodium mist is in sodium vapor to enable detection. When sodium vapor is in contact with the external surface of the detection cylinder 4, it is ionized and a voltage is developed between the terminals 8 and 11. The amplitude is dependent on the sodium vapor pressure, then the measuring vapor pressure of the liquid sodium 9 can be obtained. Further, by stopping the heating of the heater 13, since the measurement of vapor pressure not including the sodium mist is possible, the concentration of the sodium mist can be known.
