Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the presence of leakage and the leaked position for cooling member with a simple construction and low cost, by measuring the resistance value between one end of the cylindrical conductor placed in the pipe of thermal contraction and one end of the resistor placed at the shaft center of cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: In parallel with the conductor 5 and the resistor 6 along the pipe, they are located with a given gap, and the resistor betwen the terminals 7 and 8 is measured. If vapor is in leakage, by using the temperature of the leaked vapor, the conductor 5 and the resistor 6 are contacted at the leaked part. Thus, the position of the leakage can be detected from the resistance value from the teminal 8 to the contact position 6A.
