PURPOSE:To lessen the load of the subscriber by securing the automatic starting for the terminal unit which is always connected in parallel to the telephone set and without ringing the telephone bell. CONSTITUTION:When the telephone receives the incoming, the potential of L2 at -48V has the polarity inversion to +48V. Then the call signal is transmitted in 0-2 seconds from the time of polarity inversion to ring the bell of telephone 7. In the cace of the data communication, the exchange never transmits the call signal subsequently even though the polarity is inverted at the incoming time. Timer logic circuit 4 starts when the power supply is started from constant voltage circuit 5, and accordingly the polarity inverting time of point B can be regarded as the starting time of the timer action. After this, the detection output of rectifier circuit 3 is monitored for 2 seconds. If the pulse equivalent to the call signal is not detected during that time, the start signal is transmitted from terminal 6. As a result, the terminal unit can be started without ringing the bell of telephone 7.
